The Vancouver Canucks acquired center Elias Lindholm from the Calgary Flames for winger Andrei Kuzmenko, defensemen Hunter Brzustewicz and Joni Jurmo, a first-round draft pick in 2024 and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2024. |
Head coach Marco Sturm said Friday that Lindholm (lower body) will be out for a few weeks, Adam Pellerin of NESN reports.
Lindholm scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.
The do-it-all center has the offensive chops to play on the first line and the defensive skills to challenge for the Selke Trophy. He has the kind of 200-foot game that brings smiles to a coach's face, and can play on both special teams as well as chew up key minutes at even strength. His willingness to do the little things can make already-good linemates look even better.
Long Range Potential: Excellent two-way center.
